What Ethereum guarantees — and what users can do

Every setting below can be read directly from the contracts on Ethereum. Soft confirmations depend on the sequencer; settlement depends on Ethereum and BoLD.

  1. 01

    Data on Ethereum

Every batch is posted to the SequencerInbox as EIP-4844 blobs. Anyone can download the batches and recompute the full state without MAYA CHAIN's own nodes. Ethereum keeps blob data for about 18 days.

  2. 02

    BoLD fraud proofs

Validators post assertions to the Rollup contract. An assertion confirms if it is not successfully challenged within 300 Ethereum blocks (~1 hour). A single honest party can defend the correct state.

  3. 03

    Permissioned validation

Only whitelisted addresses can post assertions. Anyone can still run a node and check assertions. If no assertion is confirmed for ~28 days (201,600 Ethereum blocks), the whitelist is removed automatically.

  4. 04

    Force inclusion

Bypass a stalled sequencer via the delayed inbox on Ethereum. After the force-inclusion window of 24 hours, anyone can call forceInclusion on the SequencerInbox.

  5. 05

    Withdrawals

Assets leave MAYA CHAIN only after the assertion that includes the withdrawal is confirmed. Then anyone holding the proof can execute through the Outbox — normally via the bridge Claim tab.

  6. 06

    Upgrades

Core contracts and system settings are upgradeable through UpgradeExecutor contracts on Ethereum and MAYA CHAIN, controlled by chain governance. Changes are public transactions.
